Is It Time to Upgrade Your Software?
When working with customers we find that some of you
are on some very old versions of our software.
You can find instructions on finding versions in the
FAQ page of our site at https://www.bvstools.com/faq.html.
Why is it important to keep up to date on our software?
First, we only support the latest version. This makes
sure you have the latest fixes and patches already applied,
and it also makes providing a solution to your particular
problem much easier.
Upgrading versions of our software is FREE!
There is no charge for upgrading software except in
rare cases. For example, if you are running a version
of
Spooled File Tools (SPLTOOL) earlier than v8.00
and are using the SPL2EMAIL command to email spooled
files, when you upgrade your version of SPLTOOL you
will also need to install (and purchase)
eMail Tool (MAILTOOL).
So, if you find that you are a few releases behind
on any of our software, feel free to download and install
the latest version. There are upgrade instructions with
each download and full release notes showing the fixes,
updates and changes that were applied for each version
release.

SPLTOOL Update! PDF Page Limits Removed!
Spooled
File Tools (SPLTOOL) has just been updated to v8.50,
which now removes all PDF page size limits!
Past versions of SPLTOOL were limited to spooled files
of around 10,000 pages. Older versions were limited
to just 3000 pages!
With this latest version all size limitations when
generating a PDF file have been removed!
If you are a current registered user of SPLTOOL you
can upgrade by downloading the latest version from https://www.bvstools.com/spltool.html.

MAILTOOL Update! Distribution Lists Now Available!

Tool (MAILTOOL) v5.00 has just been release now
allowing the use of distribution lists!
If you are using the MAILTOOL Plus! option, you can
now set up and manage distribution lists using the MAILTOOL
Distribution List (MLTDSTL) command. You can even import
existing IBM distribution lists!
To specify a distribution list to use when sending
an email from the MAILTOOL or the SPL2EMAIL commands,
simply specify the distribution list name preceded by
an asterisk (*) on either the To:, CC:, or BCc: address
parameters.
Upgrade your version of MAILTOOL by downloading the
latest version from https://www.bvstools.com/mailtool.html.

advantage of this new feature!

We just upgraded/replaced our AS/400. What do I
need to do to register?
Because we do not charge a yearly maintenance/support/upgrade
fee, you will need to purchase new registration keys
for any software you wish to continue using. If you
just purchased your keys recently (within a couple of
months), contact us and we can discuss more details.
If your upgrade or replacement machine has a new serial
number and/or model number, please send us the serial
number and the model number of the machine no longer
in use as well as the serial number and model number
of the new machine so we can get new registration keys
ready for you.
Please also keep in mind that there is a 1/2 price
charge for each piece of software that you wish to run
on any additional LPARs as well.
